monkey busness
My monkey has a lot of different sounds. Most people think monkeys only make oo-oo-ah-ah sounds, but they have so many clicks and chirps and shrieks that its’ impossible to tell what he’s saying - but we know a few phrases. When he thinks he is going to get food, he hops around and makes scratchy squeaks a lot. When gets food he whistles and clicks. When he eats he doesn’t talk much, probably because he’s stuffing his face, literally. He fills his cheeks first, and then eats his fill. When he is alone, it’s the worst. He starts screeching while baring his teeth, or makes his mouth an O. The calls are sort of longer, and have a little space in between and sometimes it sounds like a growl or rolling R’s. The most important thing is he doesn’t stop. If he can hear you but not see you, he repeats a whistle that goes from high to low.
Thankfully, if he sees the cat he quiets down. He loves the cat and thinks he’s family. He also likes death gripping the cat’s armpits. They groom each other and share food. The cat has started eating papaya and mangoes.

The Cashews
Have any of you ever seen cashews before they’re conveniently packaged and sitting on the shelf, well I have and I roasted them too. At first they are green and apparently poisonous, scratch that, at first they’re on a tree with fruit hanging off them. The fruit is red/yellow and feels like chalk but tastes okay; the nut on the other hand needs to be cooked. How you cook it is you make a fire and put them in a pot over it (no water) you stir it until they turn black then you pour it out and throw sand on it to cool it. After that you take a small rock and crack the shell off and then you eat it. Yum!
