Abuja
Last week my family went to Abuja to have a vacation and pick up Stephanie. We got there on Thursday and on Friday we toured the city.
First, we went to the Sheraton and had a great all-you-can-eat buffet with waffles, pancakes, bacon, and all the other good stuff. I know that you probably eat these things every day but I live in the bush. That was the only waffle iron I have ever seen in Nigeria. Yum! My dad met somebody from Jos. His name was John. He recommended a mall/cinema for later.
We went to Nigeria’s 50th anniversary celebration. After that we went to the National Children’s Park and Zoo where we spent the afternoon. I climbed a giant pole with ropes leading to the top. We finished the zoo and decided to go to the mall John told us about. We saw Avatar the Last
AirBender (which was pretty good), and then ate some Chinese food. While we were eating, John came with his family and again Dad (always the talker) went over to chat. John’s wife said that there were two car bombs at the festival. Who knew? We heard the boom and saw the smoke, but didn’t think it was a bomb.
Finally we went home, watched X-men and went to bed.
